leaf with pavement (the fall)

it’s true.

DSC07437i miss fall, with its warm days and cold nights, wool and corduroy, the crunch of leaves and their soggy counterpart after a rain, the smell of a wood fire wafting from a chimney and the quicker pace of pedestrians, the swish of all-weather coats an undercurrent to the tip tap of leather on pavement.

DSC07439wistful is the mood (and the word.) i’m not sure i’m willing to give up the fall i experience now with its subtle weather shifts, highs & lows in one day, off shore and on shore winds, the liquidambar leaf falling to the driveway in a slow arc (the flight of a young bird) and landing at my feet just so i could share it with you.
