rose hydrangea yucca (the weeks ahead)

do you think the rose, the hydrangea, and the yucca think of blooming as work?

DSC06561“oof. i have so much work to do in the coming weeks,” sighed the tree rose as three blossoms it had been developing opened their petals.

DSC06564“girl, i know exactly what you mean,” said the hydrangea (with a nod to elmore leonard’s rule “always use ‘said’ when writing dialogue, the words will convey how they were said.) the hydrangea’s dried flora display rustled in the wind.

DSC06563“you two have no idea what it’s like to bloom and die as quickly as i do,” murmured the yucca (i did not learn my lesson from leonard.)

“but we do know that robert’s got a bunch of work-related blossoms coming up in the next few weeks, so we best stay out of the way,” confirmed the trio.
