eucalyptus in the wind (and telling the future)

it was as real as me standing in front of myself (me, the protagonist and the omniscient narrator) and telling the future of ______ and ____. of course, what i said was true, it’s true of every living thing, but it was done with such conviction and clarity that i remembered it upon waking, such was its power to disturb–rattle really–my present, now.
