it’s what happens.
you’re rolling along and one day you start to notice that your outer edges are going all soft and fuzzy. the next day (or week, month, year) you realize that the light around you is the same as the light you emit — your aura is fading into the environment (“look at me when i’m talking to you…” –one of your parents said that to you, didn’t they? this is why, the very thing that made them distinctive had begun to fade as you aged and now it’s happening to you.) if i told you so you wouldn’t believe me, so i had to prove it; the camera never lies, but i do or i allow the camera to lie for me. i’ll let you decide, just don’t be surprised when, at some point in your future, you hear me say goodbye.
