trees (one, a friend; the other three, acquaintances)

the tree on the left, the one i’ve dubbed the “apocalyptic eucalyptus,” and i go a long way back.

two trees

and although i have many palm friends, these three have remained merely acquaintances. i’m not sure why we’re not closer; it could be that they tower over a home whose occupants i don’t care for much, or it could be that they’ve just never caught my fancy, not unlike someone you see often at your favorite watering-hole, you may have a nodding relationship with each other, but for some reason (psychic) you never connect.
