the century plant’s lament (actually, it’s me lamenting, but i’m using the century plant as a ‘device’)

century plants aren’t concerned with the current ‘celebrity’ culture that dominates the news cycles of the american press establishment (and by default–the rest of us.)

they don’t care about ‘liking’ or ‘hearting’ or ‘<3′ or re-blogging or flaming (although i imagine a few queenly types might enjoy the latter). they’re not on subscription lists or have ‘readers’ and they don’t write or maintain mulitple blogs (you know who you are, he said pointing the fickle finger of fate at…himself.) they pay no attention to who may or may not like them and aren’t at all interested in what you had for dinner or how you might make brussels sprout, groom your pet or one more picture of your cat, mr. nibbles.

i think that must be a good life to lead.
